About

Invoicing shouldn't cost you a cent.

Invoice Forever started from a small frustration: every “free” invoice tool eventually asks for money at the worst possible moment. I wanted one that simply stays free, and that I would actually enjoy using.

The idea

Freelancers and small businesses spend more time than they should wrestling with invoices: the right currency, the right tax, a layout that does not look amateurish. That work is identical for everyone doing it, which is a strange thing to charge a monthly subscription for.

So Invoice Forever does the fiddly parts for you. Pick your country and the currency, paper size and formatting follow, with the tax rate and legal notes already filled in for 61 countries and remembered anywhere else. Add your line items and the totals take care of themselves. Then email the invoice to your client or download a clean PDF with your branding on it.

Who's behind it

I'm Thomas van der Bruggen, an independent developer in the Netherlands, and I build and run this on my own. It exists because I got tired of invoicing tools that ask for a card at the exact moment you need them.

The guides here come from the same place. I have been running my own company since 2019, which means years of issuing invoices across borders, working out whether reverse charge applied, and chasing payments that were three weeks late. When a guide dwells on some unglamorous detail, it is usually because that detail once cost me an afternoon.

The country research and the EN 16931 e-invoice export are mine too. The export passes the EU's own validator, and the editorial policy sets out how the country facts are sourced, dated and corrected.

It's operated by Thomas van der Bruggen Holding B.V., KvK 75464136, so there is a real registered entity behind the service and your data rather than an anonymous brand. Questions, bugs and feature requests all reach me directly: get in touch.

How it stays free

Invoice Forever is funded by optional donations, not fees. There is no paid tier waiting behind the free one, no ads, and I do not sell your data. If it saves you time you are welcome to chip in, and if you never do, nothing changes.

Worth saying plainly: this is a small operation, not a company with a support desk and an uptime guarantee. What you get instead is that nothing is engineered to upsell you, and the person who wrote the code answers the email. The security page is equally direct about what is and is not protected.

Principles

The rules I hold myself to

Free means free

One plan, everything included, no trial clock and no feature gates. If it's in Invoice Forever, it's yours at no cost.

Your data is yours

No ads, no data selling, full export whenever you like. Being donation-funded is what lets me mean that.

Honest by default

I describe what the product does today, not what a roadmap promises. Where something is weak, the site says so.

Simple beats clever

Invoicing shouldn't need a manual. Sensible defaults, the right tax and currency picked for you, out of the way.

That's the whole pitch.

No card, no trial, no upgrade waiting for you at the end.
