How we compare, honestly.
Five comparisons against the tools people actually weigh us against. Every price was read off the vendor's own pricing page and carries the date it was checked, and every page names what the other product does better.
Comparison pages are usually written to make one product look inevitable. These are not. Invoice Forever has real gaps: no card payments, no client portal, no time tracking, and it is not open source. For some people one of those decides it, and you should find that out here in two minutes rather than after a month of migration.
What we do have is no price, no limits and no upgrade path, plus invoicing rules for 61 countries and a free EU e-invoice export. Where that is the better trade, these pages say so. Where it is not, they say that too.
Invoice Forever vs Invoice Ninja
Invoice Ninja's free plan stops at 5 clients. Ours doesn't stop. But Invoice Ninja is open source, and if you want to run your invoicing on your own server, that matters more than price.
Invoice Forever vs FreshBooks
FreshBooks is accounting software that invoices. If you only need the invoicing, you are paying $23 a month minimum for a plan that still caps you at 5 clients.
Invoice Forever vs Wave
Wave has one of the few genuinely free plans in this category, so this is a closer comparison than most. The differences are in what the free tier leaves out, and in how international you are.

Zoho Invoice is free and means it, so the comparison is not about price. It is about ceilings, and about whether you want to be inside the Zoho ecosystem.
