How to invoice in Greece
A compliant Greek invoice (timologio) must show the supplier's and customer's full name, address and AFM (tax number), a sequential invoice number, the issue date, an itemised description with net amounts, and the VAT rate and amount per line. Virtually all invoices are transmitted to AADE's myDATA platform, which assigns a MARK authentication number and QR code that must appear on the document. Amounts are shown in euro and records kept for the statutory retention period.

- Domestic supply - Greek VAT (FPA) charged at the rate shown.
- Intra-Community supply - exempt from VAT under Article 138 of Directive 2006/112/EC; the customer accounts for VAT.
- Reverse charge - VAT to be accounted for by the recipient under Article 196 of Directive 2006/112/EC.
E-invoicing in Greece
Greece's B2B e-invoicing mandate is phasing in by turnover under Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/502, which authorises the derogation from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2027. It is mandatory since 2 March 2026 for companies with FY2023 turnover above €1 million (parallel-run grace period to 3 May 2026), and from 1 October 2026 for all remaining Greece-established businesses (adjustment period to 31 December 2026). Invoices must follow the EN 16931 European standard, are issued through AADE-accredited (Peppol-based) providers or AADE's own tools, and are cleared through the myDATA platform, which returns a unique MARK identifier and QR code. Scope covers domestic B2B and exports outside the EU; issuing e-invoices for intra-EU transactions remains optional.
Invoice Forever can export a structured EN 16931 / Peppol BIS (UBL) e-invoice alongside the PDF (beta) — the format most of these mandates are built on. You still send it via your own access point, and some countries require their own national format.

Payment terms in Greece
Business payment terms in Greece are commonly 30 days from the invoice date. Under the EU Late Payment Directive, B2B terms should not exceed 60 days unless expressly agreed and not grossly unfair; statutory interest applies to overdue amounts.
