How to invoice in Türkiye
A Turkish fatura is identified by a sequential serial and number, and carries the issue date, both parties' names and addresses, their tax numbers (VKN for businesses, TCKN for individuals), a clear description of the goods or services, and VAT (KDV) shown separately at the applicable rate. Most established businesses are required to issue these electronically as e-Fatura or e-Arşiv rather than on paper. Invoices are normally denominated in Turkish lira; where a foreign currency is used, the TRY equivalent at the applicable exchange rate should also be shown.

E-invoicing in Türkiye
Türkiye's e-Fatura clearance system, run by the Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı (GİB), has been mandatory by turnover threshold since 2014 and continues to widen. Under the standing rule, businesses whose gross turnover in a year exceeds TRY 3 million — or TRY 500,000 for online/e-commerce sellers and certain real-estate, motor-vehicle and intermediary sectors — must move to e-Fatura and e-Arşiv from 1 July of the following year, so 2025 turnover above these thresholds triggers a 1 July 2026 start. Invoices are issued as digitally signed UBL-TR 1.2 XML and cleared through the GİB portal, with a mandatory QR code since September 2023.
Invoice Forever can export a structured EN 16931 / Peppol BIS (UBL) e-invoice alongside the PDF (beta) — the format most of these mandates are built on. You still send it via your own access point, and some countries require their own national format.
Verified 23 July 2026 against the source. E-invoicing rules are changing quickly, so always confirm the current position with the Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı (GİB), Türkiye's Revenue Administration before you rely on it. This page is general guidance, not tax advice.
Payment terms in Türkiye
Payment terms are agreed between the parties: 30 days is common in B2B, with 30-60 days typical for larger or corporate customers. Statutory default interest applies to overdue commercial payments.
